Before starting work on the manufacture of a chair-bed, you need to determine which model is best suited to the design of a particular room. Why do you need to solve several issues:

  1. What size should a chair bed be?
  2. What type of cladding is practical in each particular room?
  3. What particular room will the furniture be in?

Naturally, the main aspect is the purpose of furniture. At night, the product turns into a full-fledged bed, that is, when choosing a particular model, you need to focus on getting maximum comfort during your vacation.

When choosing a casing, try to choose a material that tolerates cleaning (especially if pets live). In addition, during the purchase of textiles, be sure to find out if the fabric is saturated with special substances from pollution.

Natural fabrics do not interfere with normal air exchange, but artificial materials increase the practicality of furniture and simplify maintenance.

Attention! The dimensions of the chair-bed are selected in each case. If furniture is necessary for a small room, then you definitely need to take into account the dimensions of all installed furniture and the dimensions of the unfolded chair-bed.

Material selection

For the manufacture of furniture you will need the following material:

  1. Fiberboard is used to create longitudinal parts of any size that can be made. Most often, a sheet of medium thickness, but high density, is selected. You can also choose a laminated plate (LDL), which will additionally make it possible to avoid toxic fumes. The disadvantages include fragility and a small selection of design, while on the budget the cost of this material is in the first place.
  2. Furniture board is used, like fiberboard, but has better strength characteristics and a more attractive appearance. The disadvantage is the high cost, because of this it is installed only in open areas.
  3. Edged board - density will depend on the type of wood. The board is quite difficult to process due to physical indicators. As a rule, it is used as an additional material, but in some cases (if the loads are insignificant) it is a replacement for LDL.
  4. Bar - is used as a support and support structure. As a rule, its presence is almost invisible, but without it, no structure will be durable.
  5. Foam rubber and synthetic winterizer - fillers for upholstery.
  6. Spanbond - placed on top of the filler, due to which it is firmly fixed. Also, this material is convenient when pulling the outer skin, as it can provide good sliding.

Using this mechanism, you can also get a box located at the bottom of the box.

The disadvantage is that when assembled, a chair with a retractable system looks bulky, but the strength and the presence of a linen box compensate for this drawback.

Further, taking into account the drawing, all elements of the sleeping part and the body of the chair are cut. Four squares need to be cut out of the plywood sheet. On the folding part, 3 pieces are required, and 1 is used for the back. Sawing is done with a hacksaw on a tree or with an electric jigsaw.

Bar cutting:

  • 4 things. for legs;
  • 7 pcs for crossbars;
  • 6 pcs for the longitudinal part of the bed.

  • rectangle 30x90 cm - 2 pieces;
  • rectangle 40x90 cm - 1 piece;
  • square 90x90 cm - 2 pieces.

The cut out elements have a thickness of 24 cm. The next step is the cutting of the material. When doing work, the main thing is not to forget about allowances for seams, they are made at least 3 cm, in places where zipper is sewn in - allowance is at least 4 cm.

Sew two kinds of covers:

  1. Draft from cheap material.
  2. Elegant of quality textile.

Attention! It turns out several blanks that are stacked on top of each other, they are equal to the size of the trimmed foam. In the general design, all the elements are assembled at the expense of zippers sewn to the covers.
