How to wash a No Frost refrigerator

Proper maintenance is an important component of the operation of household appliances. Those who want the refrigerator to function for a long time should follow the simple recommendations regarding its maintenance. Even the process of delivery of the unit to the house must be carried out correctly.

Despite the presence of the No Frost system, which literally means “without hoarfrost,” it is recommended to defrost the unit at least a couple of times a year. This should be done with the aim of carrying out a general cleaning.

The implementation of defrosting is only a temporary disconnection of the unit from the network, since a properly working refrigerator of this type is defrosted automatically.

Important! Refrigeration units tend to accumulate unpleasant odors. To get rid of them, complete defrosting and ventilation is necessary.

When defrosting, the following simple rules should be observed:

  • cleaning the unit should not be carried out in extreme heat;
  • in the presence of two cooling circuits, only one of the chambers can be defrosted;
  • if the cooling circuit is one, then before turning off the device, the temperature regulator should be set to zero;
  • after turning off the power, remove all contents and leave the door wide open;
  • washing the unit should be carried out in its entirety, including the back surface;
  • full cleaning should be started after the internal surfaces become room temperature;
  • First of all, ventilation compartments are cleaned with cotton swabs;
  • then comes the time for cleaning shelves, pockets located in the door and other internal elements;
  • complete the cleaning by wiping all surfaces dry;
  • Before switching on the unit, make sure that all surfaces inside are 100% dry.

Important! Cleaning the back surface, where most dust accumulates, is necessary so that the unit consumes less energy.

Cleaning the refrigerator: what can be used and which are not

It is better to use solutions prepared by yourself to clean the internal elements of the refrigerator. This can be, for example, a simple soap solution, for the preparation of which a conventional dishwashing detergent or laundry soap is used.

Effective and safe for internal elements soda solution. It is prepared on the basis of: 1 liter. water 2 tsp powder. A sponge soaked in such a solution can easily not only be cleaned, but also disinfected, all parts. Also for washing, a solution with vinegar is used, which is diluted with water in equal parts.

Important! For washing a rubber sealant, the use of acetic solution is contraindicated! If this element loses elasticity, olive oil can be used to wipe.

Moisture accumulation is characteristic of the refrigerator, which leads to mold. To get rid of it, a solution of whiteness with water, taken in the proportion: 1 part of the product and 10 parts of water, is suitable. To get rid of persistent stains, it is necessary to moisten them for 10 minutes.

Important! To clean the internal parts, do not use chemicals containing chemicals. Aggressive substances can subsequently settle on products.

It is allowed to use only those store tools for cleaning inside the unit that do not leave scratches and do not raise doubts about their safety for products.

How to keep your fridge in order

The outside of the refrigerator should be cleaned at least once a week. A regular audit of products should also be carried out for expiration dates. Contamination and debris must be removed in a timely manner.

Proper storage of products and leftovers of cooked food (in closed containers) and compliance with the principles of commodity neighborhood will help prevent the appearance of unpleasant odors. Not all product categories can be adjacent. For example, you cannot store raw meat, fish, eggs near open, ready-to-eat dishes.

The minimum distance between the refrigerator and stove is at least half a meter. The space around the unit must be free - at least within a radius of 5 cm. Only when this condition is met is sufficient air circulation ensured and the compressor overheating is prevented.

Important! If the floor in the room where the refrigerator will be installed is planned to be insulated, then the space for the unit should be left without heating.

How to get rid of a foul odor

A bad smell present inside the refrigeration unit is a common problem. Of course, first of all, it is necessary to establish and eliminate the cause of the aroma. It happens that the smells of fresh products when mixed become unpleasant.

To eliminate the problem, special fresheners presented in a wide assortment are used. They are inexpensive and are valid for three months.

You can use natural remedies that are in every home. They are usually placed in saucers on a shelf inside the unit. Such remedies include: orange peels, unused tea bags, natural coffee, activated carbon. The latter should be crushed (approximately 30 tablets) and left on the shelf for several weeks. Interestingly, coal powder can be reused if you put it for 10 minutes in a preheated oven.
