How to clean a dishwasher

In order to ensure high-quality work and a long service life of the dishwasher, it is necessary to correctly and timely clean not only external but also internal elements.

Cleaning the dishwasher at home with synthetic products

For these purposes, liquid detergents suitable for washing dishes are suitable. Also, in household chemical stores, you can purchase professional dishwasher cleaners that must be used once every thirty cycles. These funds, having a suitable composition and taking into account all the features of the device, are considered the most safe.

How to clean kitchen appliances from fat without using physical force

There are many effective products prepared independently from available ingredients. Let's consider some of them.

A solution of soda and vinegar is prepared as follows: take water and acetic acid 5% in a ratio of 13: 1, baking soda (about 55 grams) is added to the container, everything mixes well, the consistency should hiss. Next, the container is placed in the machine, run it in standard mode without dishes. At the end, they wipe the inner chamber with a cloth, there should be no trace of dirt.

Important! Before starting work on cleaning the dishwasher, disconnect it from the mains and turn off the water supply tap.

What parts need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned separately

To get started, we take out baskets and utensils for tableware, soak them in a previously prepared container with water and detergent, leave them for some time depending on pollution (from 30 minutes to an hour). After well clean with a sponge and rinse with clean water. This procedure gives a good effect.

The most contaminated part is the strainer, on which a layer of fat and plaque is collected in large quantities on a daily basis. Small holes get clogged, as a result, a rather unpleasant odor may appear due to a hotbed of harmful bacteria, and most importantly it can cause a leak. The cleaning procedure consists in the following: it is necessary to remove the lower basket and disassemble it, remove the filter and rinse thoroughly under the tap using any detergent intended for washing dishes. Next, dry the part or wipe it dry with a towel, set it back. To maintain the strainer in excellent hygienic conditions, it is enough to carry out this procedure 1-2 times a week.

The next step is to clean the blades that are contaminated with food debris and scale. To do this, remove them and rinse, clean the holes with toothpicks.

Every six months, it is advisable to clean the seals using specialized tools recommended by the manufacturer. A toothbrush is also useful, which easily penetrates the space between the pads.

Methods for eliminating rust and mold from parts of the device

An ideal tool for removing black mold at home is bleach. The higher the level of contamination, the longer it will take to process (for the most severe contaminants 5-6 hours, for small ones - from two to three hours). Before being treated with whiteness, you can first apply a solution of hydrogen peroxide for 2 hours.

Important! If the device contains stainless steel parts, chlorine-containing substances will not work.

Reference! It is quite simple to prevent the appearance of mold - it is enough to leave the door open regularly for weathering residual moisture.

The first symptoms of rust - bloating of the surface layer of paint or peeling. Elimination is quite complicated and is possible only with the help of special rust removers. To prevent the occurrence of this unpleasant problem, just install a water purification filter.

Features of cleaning the device with citric acid

The use of citric acid to care for seals is considered undesirable due to the negative impact on the properties of rubber. After applying this substance, the rubber gasket loses such important functions as elasticity and tightness.

How to prevent dirt build-up and scale on parts

Important! Before loading, dirty dishes must be thoroughly cleaned of food debris. This action will allow for general cleaning of the device much less often.

To prevent the appearance of scale, you can carry out (every six months) cleaning with citric acid. The procedure is quite simple: fill the tray with citric acid in a volume of 200 grams and start washing without dishes. Specialists recommend the use of special tools (Finish, Soda sun, Topper, Amway).

Attention! The main rule for the prevention of scale formation is the regular use of salt, due to which the accumulation of deposits is reduced.
