What is Power saving mode on the monitor

Sometimes, when turning on the PC, users are faced with an inscription on the screen of the monitor Power saving mode. What does it mean?

What is Power saving mode

Many are lost in the event of any malfunction in the normal functioning of the computer. If the screen shows Power saving mode, it means that the device is currently activated in energy saving mode. But why is this happening?

The reason for the computer to enter this mode is the lack of a video signal from the system unit. That is why the monitor goes into energy-saving mode and reports about it, demonstrating Power saving mode.

What to do if such an inscription appears on the monitor

We start with a simple one:

  • check the power supply - whether all wires are connected correctly and the power buttons are pressed (damage to the wires or poor contact);
  • if the cooling fans are working - perhaps they are out of order or overheated.

If all of the above manipulations are completed, and the inscription has not disappeared, we proceed to more complex procedures.

ATTENTION! Before performing the following actions, you must turn off the computer!

Further:

  1. We open the case of the system unit or laptop, find and retrieve the RAM, conduct a visual inspection for damage and burned contacts. We clean the contacts from possible oxidation using a conventional eraser and try to start the computer again. You can try connecting the RAM to different slots, if you can replace it with another one. At the same time, carefully clean everything inside from dust.
  2. Checking the video card. If there is an external card and an integrated one, then we try to disconnect the external (discrete) card and start the computer only with the integrated (integrated) one. If there is only a built-in video card, we remove it, conduct a visual inspection for burnt microcircuits and put it back in place or try to replace it with a working one from another computer - if this is possible. You can also check the video card by connecting it to another PC.
  3. If the above actions did not give any result, try to reset the BIOS settings. We take out the battery from the motherboard and insert it into place after some time.

You can also run Safe Mode on your computer. To do this, you must reboot it and press the magic button F8 or a combination of Shift + F8. In the drop-down menu, select the desired OS boot option. If everything worked, then you need to reinstall / update the video card driver from the site of its manufacturer.

ATTENTION! It must be understood that the motherboard and video card are complex elements and the failure of their microcircuits leads to disastrous results.

Accessories may cease to function if:

  • penetration into the device of various liquids;
  • physical impact (shock, fall);
  • instability (surges) of voltage in the network;
  • the occurrence of a potential difference due to the connection of an ungrounded computer to another device;
  • work in overheating mode (due to the accumulation of dust, dirt in the cooling system and its failure).

IMPORTANT! Regular cleaning of PCs from dirt, lubrication of fan bearings, anti-virus checks will help to keep it working longer and save your money and time spent on repairs.

If the above manipulations did not help or it is difficult to figure out one or not, take the computer to a service where they will help to identify and fix problems.
