Parquet tinted - colors

If your parquet has lost its appeal, needs to be repaired or its tone does not fit the color scheme set by the new repair, it's time to think about restoring it and giving it a new shade. Changing the color scheme of parquet is done by tinting it.

Stages of tinting

Work on changing the tint of parquet can be divided into three stages. We will tell you more about them.

How to prepare floors

IMPORTANT! First of all, a set of measures is being taken to prepare the surface of the floor covering.

A well-made floor preparation will ensure an excellent result.

It includes such operations.

  • Removing varnish or oil by scrubbing the floor. If necessary, pre-replace individual dies and level the surface of the floor covering.
  • Grinding.
  • Dry and wet cleaning of the surface to a perfect condition.

IMPORTANT! Further work is carried out only after the floor has completely dried.

How to choose a color

The choice of color and shade of the tinted floor should be performed in harmony with the style of the interior that is selected for the room. This will set a certain mood.

  • Fashionable white tone will create a purity effect, will give style and accuracy.
  • Heat and harmony will add red color.
  • Neutral serenity will give shades of gray.
  • Solid, elegant and solemn look dark tones.
  • The most universal option will be shades of natural wood colors..

TIP. To see how the test color fits into the gamut of tones and the style given to the room, the implementation of test colors will help.

Experts apply this technique, since it allows you to adjust the color and shade, get into the desired key, and enhance accents. And also create a background that can emphasize the beneficial characteristics of the interior.

Means used for tinting

To give the prepared floor a selected color (tint coating), the following tools are used.

Lucky

Modern manufacturers offer a choice of ready-made colored varnishes. It is also possible to use colorless varnishes, color thinners and tinting compositions to achieve the desired shades of different colors.

Varnish does not penetrate deep into the wood fibers. If you want to change the color, it is enough to polish the floor before removing the varnish layer and cover the surface with a new color.

Oils

Oil tinting allows for deep absorption of the tinting composition into wood fibers. The result is a deeper parquet color.

The procedure is performed in two stages. First, colored oil is applied to the surface of an impeccably prepared floor.

To give a deeper color, the coating with colored oil is performed twice. After that, the color is fixed with colorless oil.

The use of special imported equipment intended for these purposes makes it possible to obtain the highest quality coating and reduce the time required to complete the work.

Stain coating

Three coating layers are performed. The drying period of each of the first two layers is three days. The latter should dry for a week. After that, the surface is washed and 2 layers of varnish are applied.

IMPORTANT! Different types of wood absorb color in different ways. This feature should be considered when choosing a tool for tinting and coating.

What determines the cost of tinting

Having decided to change the tone of the flooring, it is necessary to estimate the cost of work in advance. Construction companies will indicate prices for this service.

The price of obtaining the desired color and the effect of parquet depends on the materials used, the number of layers and the floor area to be covered.
